Evaluate Functions Circuit

All students start on the same problem (#1) whose answer leads them to the next problem somewhere on the paper. They label this new problem as #2. They continue in this manner until reaching the 12th problem whose answer will lead them back to #1. This is a great activity for students to work at their pace and self-check as they work. An answer key has been provided.

Methods for Solving Quadratic Equations

This document can be used as a foldable or reference sheet. Included are the steps for each method and one example for the students to complete. This is a great resource for the students to refer back to as they continue to master the methods. There is an editable sheet as well if you would like to provide different problems than the ones included.

Interactive Notebook Check Rubric

This rubric was designed as a quick check for student interactive notebooks. The students put effort into keeping up with their notebooks so this is a great way to give them credit and feedback. Also provides a reminder to them to finish any assignments that they did not complete or were absent for as they know their notebooks will be graded. I use this quarterly as a formative grade. There are two rubrics to a single page.

About the store

Experience

I have had the pleasure of teaching over 23 years. I took some time off to raise my family and several years ago I came "out of retirement." I have taught 6th grade math through Pre-Calculus.

Teaching style

In 2022 I started teaching using the Building Thinking Classrooms method and it has been transformative. Prior to this I have incorporated various styles of teaching and alternate days of direct instruction with guided notes (or foldables) with partner or group activities as well as giving my students an opportunity to work with a computer program.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am honored when my students tell me they enjoy the class and hope to have me as a teacher again. I have been the Math Teacher of the Year (2020, 2024) Nominee for my District. I have the honor of being named District Math Teacher of the Year for 2024.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Mathematics as well as a Master's degree in Secondary Education.
