This high school math lesson demonstrates how to rationalize denominators. Problems include rationalizing monomial denominators as well as binomial denominators. Homework is included on the last slide. A great lesson for any algebra class!
This high school math lesson demonstrates how to solve quadratic equations using the quadratic formula. There is a small review on rationalizing denominators. Graphs of each quadratic are included to show students how solutions are related to the zeros of a function. Homework is included.
This high school math lesson demonstrates how the slope of the tangent line and the slope of the secant line are related. The difference quotient and derivative are compared using graphs. A slide of Newton allows teachers to discuss the origins of calculus. The limit as h approaches zero is added to the difference quotient to make the derivative.
