About the store
Hey there! I’m the creator behind Highlighted Behavior Solutions, and I’ve been working in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for a while now. I started as a private tutor for an individual with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), ADHD, dysgraphia, and other behavior challenges in school and at home. I continued working with this individual while I pursued my masters in special education. During my practicum, I worked as a behavior technician and really fell in love in working with individuals of all abilities and learning styles. I obtained my masters and Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) and found that I excelled at parent training/caregiver coaching and creating engaging resources. My background is in helping kids develop independence through structured supports, and I love creating resources that actually make a difference in real-life classrooms, clinics, and homes. I’ve worked with kids of all ages in special education settings, therapy sessions, and parent coaching, so I know how important it is to have tools that are easy to use, engaging, and effective. My goal is to take what I’ve learned and make it fun and practical for teachers, therapists, and parents like you!

Teaching style

I believe learning should be structured, but fun! My approach is all about visuals, hands-on learning, and breaking things down into simple steps. I use a lot of checklists, token boards, visual schedules, and interactive social stories—because let’s be real, those things work! I also focus on compassionate, assent-based learning, which means giving kids more control over their own learning while still providing the support they need. Everything I create is designed to be easy to implement and flexible—because I know how busy you are, and the last thing you need is something complicated!

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my biggest achievements of my career was having my master's thesis published in an international journal. I spent many months researching interventions on teaching manding using interrupted behavior chains. I don’t have a fancy trophy shelf, but my biggest wins come from seeing kids gain confidence and independence using the resources I create. Some of my favorite moments include: ✨ Helping a student who struggled with toileting finally feel confident using a visual schedule and reward system. ✨ Hearing from teachers and parents that my social stories and behavior charts have been game-changers in their classrooms and homes. ✨ Watching my resources grow on TPT, knowing they’re helping more kids every day. ✨ Training other educators on assent-based ABA strategies and seeing them bring those ideas to life. Every time someone tells me, “This made my life so much easier!”—that’s a win in my book.

My own education history

I have a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and special education, with training in behavioral interventions and parent coaching. More importantly, I’ve spent years working hands-on with kids, figuring out what works (and what doesn’t!). I take what I’ve learned from experience and turn it into practical, easy-to-use resources that help students succeed.

Additional biographical information

When I’m not creating resources, you’ll probably find me brainstorming new ideas, experimenting with designs, or working on my TPT store—because I really love this work! Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with my blended family--being a bonus mom and a fur mom has been highly rewarding! I also enjoy reading and finding new creative craft or baking projects to dive into. My current goal for this year is to perfect my sourdough bread and to read at least two books per month. I started Highlighted Behavior Solutions because I know firsthand how tough it can be to find the right tools to support kids with different learning needs. My goal is to make that process easier, more fun, and more effective—so you can spend less time searching for the right resource and more time helping your students thrive!
