Awards & shining teacher moments

Shining Teacher Moments Some of my favourite moments as a teacher come when students who normally say, “I hate history,” suddenly light up during a lesson or worksheet, because they understood it and felt confident. Whether it's a reluctant reader completing their first comprehension without help or a quiet student leading a group discussion on trench warfare, those moments remind me why accessible, well-designed resources matter. Awards Awards & Recognition I'm proud to have been named Teacher of the Year twice in the humanities department across nine departments, a recognition that reflects my commitment to making history and geography meaningful and accessible for all learners. These awards remind me that great teaching isn’t about flashy presentations. It’s about meeting students where they are, building their confidence, and helping them see the world in new ways.
