This product was created for my first graders. We are going to be reading the book creepy carrots this week, and we are working on singular and plural nouns. It is one page. Students will sort the words and then write a sentence using one of the given words. We always practice writing correct sentences with everything we do.

We read this book several weeks into first grade, so we don't want to just focus on the first day of school. I created this for my partners and I to use to compare how our students felt on the first day compared to how they feel about school now.

We use Zearn as our math curriculum. We are required to create common formative assessments for each mission. My team and I created these problems based on our Big Rock Standards and what we teach from the Zearn lessons. These are Arkansas Math Standards. There is a rubric at the bottom on the assessment. Our school uses M(mastered), P(progressing), and N(not mastered) as our standards based report card grades, so the rubric is based on that.

We read "The Library" by Sarah Stewart. After reading, my students brainstormed books they like to read. Then they were given this page to create a book they would have in their own library.
