Looking for a way to keep up with what child is reading on which level? Look no further! Use this form to record current reading levels during testing so that you can quickly see at a glance the progress that each child is making. This is a great tool to pull out at parent-teacher conferences, as well as to demonstrate progress to administrators (handy for Class KEYS teacher assessments as well!). Use this resource for planning for small group instruction on their level. ********************

About the store

Experience

I have taught in both public and private schools for 8 years and have also homeschooled my own children. Each experience has its own challenges to overcome and rewards to enjoy. I have enjoyed coaching new teachers as well as sharing and receiving resources and ideas from teachers both new and experienced in the field.

Teaching style

I enjoy teaching with students learning along with me, sharing their thinking while I encourage them to go even deeper with their processing. We are very hands-on in first grade with hugs to all before leaving each day. My students won't remember every lesson that I spent hours preparing, but they will always remember whether or not I loved them.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was chosen as Teacher-of-the-Year in 2010-2011.

My own education history

I attended private school from Kindergarten through tenth grades and then finished the remaining years of high school at a fine arts magnet school in my hometown. I received my BA in Early Childhood Education and later completed my Masters in Integrating Technology in the Classroom.

Additional biographical information

I married my high school sweetheart and we have two children. My oldest son was diagnosed with cancer when he was eleven years old, and that has been a test of faith, strength, and balance. I am very active in church and enjoy spending time with my family, reading, crocheting, cross-stitching, and researching innovative ideas in education in my free time.
