After reading Notice and Note by Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst, we compiled a list of picture books to teach the signposts. For example, in the book Bully by Patricia Polacco, when Jamie figures out that Gage stole the test from the Ward Room that was an Aha Moment. We have listed FOUR quality picture books for each Signpost. Can be used with any grade level.

Students will research different countries and their Winter Holidays. They will learn about their customs, traditions, food, dress, songs and much more. Students will present their findings during a day of celebration. Included are: lesson plans, note sheets, rubric, parent notes and websites.

Students will use math, reading, science and writing skills to learn more about pumpkins.

Students will create a short story using conversation hearts in their sentences.
