This a project for students to create a roller coaster after you've taught piecewise functions. The way I did it with my students is used the paper and design, using the notes provided, and some graphing paper, for them to create, sketch, and develop their rollercoaster before going in to the second part, which is building a scale of their design. I used this while teaching algebra 2 through college board's standards but it may be used with almost any high school math classes seeing piecewise

Graphing quadratic inequalities

These notes show graphs where students need to find the attributes and the quadratic function in vertex form.

Learn how to graph square root functions, label the characteristics of the graphs, and all the transformations. The last page includes graphing cube root functions.

Model how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide radical expressions.

These notes offer the opportunity to show students how to graph quadratic functions in standard form, vertex form, and factored form. A table and a graph is provided to allow visuals without the use of a calculator. Then, students can represent the characteristics of each function. The last four pages can be used as an activity or scavenger hunt for individual or group practice.
