AP, Physics, Rotational Inertia, Torque and Angular acceleration complete lesson

Created by
HubPhys
This is a complete lesson designed for a 1.5 hour class. The lesson is an introduction Rotational Inertia (moment of inertia) and also covers how angular acceleration and net torque are related. This lesson is designed with the AP Physics 1 test in mind but can be used for any physics class. Powerpoint with videos of solved solutions, definitions, worked example problems gifs etc.Cornell style notes with follow along blanks, and practice problems along the wayGroup or individual style practice

Physics marble projectile lab, Independence of horizontal and vertical motion AP

Created by
HubPhys
In this lab students will gather data on the horizontal velocity of a projectile and show that it does not change as it is flying through the air. They will calculate the horizontal velocity of the projectile while on a table and then compare it to when the projectile was in the air. The only materials you need for this lab are some kind of projectile (marble, tennis - ball etc.) and a makeshift ramp. You can use CPO timer equipment if you wish or a simple tape measure and timer.

AP, Physics, Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM), Oscillations, Pendulum LAB

Created by
HubPhys
This lab is a guided inquiry lab where students learn how to take experimental data and verify an existing equation. The only materials needed are a piece of sting, a mass (anything), a place to hang a pendulum from and a stopwatch (I use cell phones). This lab take about 1.5 hours and requires a lot of critical thinking on the students part. The lab forces the student to examine the equation, figure out which variables they can measure (independent and dependent) and then use algebra to rea

AP, Physics, Simple Harmonic Motion, Oscillations - Mass on a Spring LAB

Created by
HubPhys
This lab is a guided inquiry lab where students learn how to take experimental data and verify an existing equation. The only materials that are needed are small springs and some mass to put on them (http://www.arborsci.com/springs-set). You will need to know the spring constant of the spring. This lab take about 1.5 hours and requires a lot of critical thinking on the students part.
