I specialize in creating engaging, inclusive, and low-prep art lessons that support creativity, cultural awareness, and student success. Whether you’re a seasoned art teacher or covering a class for the day, my resources are designed to bring joy, confidence, and creativity to your classroom.

Teaching style

My teaching style is centered on creative exploration, student empowerment, and heart-led learning. I believe every child is an artist with a unique voice, and my lessons are designed to nurture confidence, curiosity, and joy. I guide students with structure, but always leave space for individuality, self-expression, and personal meaning. Whether we’re painting, drawing, or building, I create an environment that’s safe, inclusive, and full of wonder—where students feel both seen and celebrated.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition and take part in experiences that reflect my passion for arts education, creativity, and community impact: • 🏆 Elementary Art Teacher of the Year – Northern Virginia (1992) For my innovative work bringing cultural enrichment to Weems Elementary, including launching a grant-funded Native American arts program and participating in the A.R.T. (Americans and Russians Together) international art exchange. • 🎓 Mentor to Future Educators Served as a cooperating teacher through Buffalo State College, guiding and training aspiring art educators across multiple grade levels. • ✍️ Published Illustrator Created children’s coloring books available through Empire Publishing and ET Publications on Amazon. • 🎨 Fine Art Exhibitions Featured in multiple gallery shows, including a solo exhibition at Gallery 245 (Buffalo, NY) and group shows at Main Street Contemporary Gallery. • 🌍 International Arts Ambassador Traveled to Russia in 1991 to represent U.S. children’s art and observe creative pedagogy abroad.
