This is my 27th year of teaching. I taught first grade for three years, fourth grade for three years, reading coach for one year, literacy coach for grades 4th-12th for two years, fifth grade teacher for one year and presently I teach sixth grade! WHEW! I have been the Teacher of the Year for my county twice and for my state district once! I am National Board Certified and Renewed!

Parent Conference Record Sheet
It is always helpful to plan your conferences before the parent arrives. WIth this planning sheet, you can write out everything you need to cover so you don't forget anything. Once the meeting is final, have all participants sign the form and give a copy to the parents.

This is my 27th year of teaching. Teaching style
I am a highly structured, loud (LOL), and consistent teacher. I am a stickler for rules and make all of my students follow them. I vary group work, individual work and partner work. I follow the Common Core Standards and my state's College and Career Ready Standards. I am more of a facilitator than a lecturer. I think when children struggle, they learn. However, I never let them struggle into frustration. I use questioning to guide them to where I need them to go.

Additional biographical information
I teach in a small, rural K-12 school. I have been happily married for 34 years now to my best friend. We have two daughters, two sons in law, two granddaughters, two grandsons and four cats! God has blessed me in so many ways I cannot even began to tell the half of it!
