This is an activity that walks students through the process of organizing and entering data into a data table and then using that data to generate line, bar, and pie charts. Once the graphs are generated, the process of formatting and editing the different parts of each graph is explained.
I have developed a bingo game that reinforces student knowledge of significant figures. In this product, there are 16 unique bingo cards and the teacher keys that can be used for a quick check to see if students are correct. The numbers in the game squares range from 1 to 10 sig figs. I would recommend laminating a classroom set and using dry erase markers for easy cleanup and reuse. Ideally, for the full bingo experience, you will need 50 ping pong balls that are labelled B 1-10, I 1-10, N 1-1
This activity requires students to use the process of dimensional analysis to convert from absurd units of measurement in order to obtain the correct recipe for delicious brownies. If they do well, they could possibly make the brownies as a reward for their hard work. Answer key is included.
This activity provides a background of the science behind making ice cream and instructions to guide a class through the process of making a small batch of ice cream in a sealable baggie.
