Teaching style

I believe learning should feel meaningful, engaging, and connected to the real world. As an IB PYP educator, my teaching style is strongly inquiry-based, hands-on, and student-centred. I love creating transdisciplinary learning experiences where students explore concepts through creativity, technology, collaboration, and critical thinking. In my classroom, you will often find students building, discussing, researching, creating, reflecting, and problem-solving together. I integrate technology meaningfully through robotics, design thinking, STEAM projects, and digital learning tools while still valuing creativity, relationships, and student voice at the centre of learning. I aim to create a warm, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow in confidence as internationally-minded learners.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my proudest achievements was receiving the Golden Key Award during my Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Pretoria, alongside graduating with 14 distinctions. Professionally, some of my most rewarding moments have come from leading large-scale student projects, robotics events, global initiatives, and whole-school programmes within the IB PYP framework. I currently serve as both Global Campus Lead and Social Impact Lead within the Nord Anglia Education network, helping students connect learning to real-world action and global citizenship. A particularly special moment was leading and helping organise RoboQuest 2026, a student robotics initiative that was recognised and featured in local media for its innovation, collaboration, and impact on student learning. Seeing students problem-solve, code, build, and confidently present their ideas through robotics and technology-based challenges has been one of the highlights of my teaching career. I am especially passionate about designing memorable learning experiences — from robotics competitions and arts festivals to inquiry-driven units that encourage students to think deeply, collaborate meaningfully, and become confident lifelong learn

My own education history

I completed my Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Development & Foundational Phase at the University of Pretoria, graduating with 14 distinctions and recognition through the Golden Key Award. During my studies, I also served as a Student Internship Leader, supporting fellow student teachers during their practical teaching experiences. Before pursuing education, I studied Industrial Psychology through UNISA – University of South Africa, which deepened my interest in human development, communication, and learning. Since becoming a teacher, I have continued developing professionally through IB workshops, safeguarding training, inclusion-focused courses, and specialised learning in inquiry, mathematics, literacy, and educational technology.

Additional biographical information

I am a Portuguese educator currently based in Italy, teaching within the IB PYP framework at H-FARM International School. Over the years, I have developed a strong passion for curriculum design, inquiry-based learning, educational technology, and creating meaningful classroom experiences that connect learning across subjects. Outside of teaching, I enjoy designing educational resources, exploring creative projects, and sharing ideas around AI integration, transdisciplinary learning, and innovation in education. I also have a background in drama and performance, which continues to influence the creativity and energy I bring into the classroom. My goal through this store is to create engaging, thoughtful, and classroom-ready resources that support curious learners and inspire teachers to bring creativity and inquiry into everyday learning.
