Teaching style

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that students construct their own understanding through inquiry, enabling them to become confident, independent, and lifelong learners. I teach through concepts, which allows students to make interdisciplinary connections and see the bigger picture. I believe that learning happens through doing. My classroom is an active space where students learn best by engaging hands-on, exploring ideas, and experiencing science in action. This approach fosters critical thinking and encourages international mindedness, both essential elements of the IB framework. Through this hub, I share resources designed to inspire inquiry-based learning, support conceptual understanding, and empower both teachers and students.

My own education history

I am Paschalina Grant, an educator and expert in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme Sciences and the Diploma Programme Biology curriculum, with over ten years of experience in international education. I completed my studies at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and hold certifications in MYP and DP Teaching and Learning from the University of Windsor in Canada, and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, IBDP concentration, from Southeastern Louisiana University in the United States.
