Teaching style

In Ms. Berg's practice, she tries to find an activity that allows the students to discover a mathematical principle on their own. Math is all about engagement, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking, so Ms. Berg creates activities that reflect that.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Ms. Berg is a member of the Nepantla Teachers Community in Illinois, which focuses on making mathematics more accessible to at-risk youth. She delivered a seminar at the 2015 conference on using origami in math class to develop students' number sense and mathematic foundations.
