You will need to purchase two nonfiction books prior to beginning this unit: "Chickens Aren't the Only Ones" by Ruth Keller, and "An Egg is Silent" by Dianna Hutts Aston. The student workbook contains 37 pages of journal prompts, directions for activities, articles to read, and a variety of other activities designed to stimulate critical thinking. Four of the five included lessons are based on two books: "Chickens Aren't the Only Ones" by Ruth Heller, & "An Egg is Quiet" by Dianna Hutts Aston.
