About the store

Experience

Following in my mother’s (and mother in law’s) footsteps led me to a rewarding fifteen-year career in the classroom, where I experienced firsthand the importance of effective teaching resources. That's when I discovered a real passion for designing materials that not only made learning accessible but also genuinely resonated with and engaged students. I started Impossible Things Learning to share my most successful creations (the classroom tested favorites that I used every year!). These proven resources have been newly polished and expanded to meet the demands of today's teaching environment. I'm also always buzzing with new ideas and actively developing fresh products as inspiration strikes! I hope that the resources you find here become an indispensable part of your teaching toolkit, empowering you to do what you do best!

Teaching style

My approach has always been student focused. I believe in making learning as accessible as possible for all students. I loved to build up their confidence (especially if history was a subject that they’d struggled with in the past).

Awards & shining teacher moments

My shining teacher moment was winning Teacher of the Quarter. The reason this distinction made me so proud was that it was awarded by the students (they were all given a chance to vote for their favorite teacher)!

My own education history

I majored in History and minored in Drama at the University of Virginia (a wonderful four years). When I discovered my calling in the classroom (after substitute teaching), I attended courses at Old Dominion University and Virginia Wesleyan University to obtain my teaching certification.

Additional biographical information

I am married to a wonderful guy (my best friend) and have an adorable little Bichon Frise dog (my baby). I also love dollhouse miniatures and all things fantasy and geek like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter!
