Incandescently Teaching

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have cultivated a rich and diverse background in education. I have spent most of my years teaching middle and high school students, in New York, Brazil, Japan, and China. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of subjects, adapting my teaching strategies to meet the evolving needs of my students and supporting my peers as they delve into varied teaching practices. I am passionate about integrating project-based learning, collaborative instruction, while maintaining a strong emphasis on academic rigor. In a time when some teachers are pressured to focus on testing first, I believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful projects that connect classroom knowledge to real-world applications. By fostering a collaborative learning environment, I encourage students to work together, share ideas, and develop critical thinking skills. My approach ensures that while students are engaged in a range of activities, they are also meeting high academic standards and achieving a deep, comprehensive understanding of the material. This blend of project-based learning, student collaboration, and academic rigor creates a dynamic and enriching educational experience that prepares students for future academic and professional success.

I have several graduate degrees from Columbia University, Teachers College and Fielding University in areas including Curriculum and Teaching and Educational Leadership.

During my down time, I enjoy traveling and relaxing by the beach with one of my favorite MC Beaton Agatha Raisin books.
