Students with disabilities often have a difficult time understanding how to advocate for themselves. This is a write up students can do to learn ways to advocate in 10 different situations. This can lead to great discussions!

Use this to have students see if they can correctly complete a checkbook register. If they can, they will be able to answer the riddle!

Use this in your classroom to have students identify similar careers within the different career clusters!

Students will use local grocery store flyers to answer the questions.  The questions range from identifying even vs odd numbers, solving discounts, ordering numbers, rounding to the nearest dollar, bills used to pay for items, and basic adding/subtracting.

In order to keep track of IEP goal progress and to see if students are on track to meet their goals, my school created a tracking device. The students IEP is divided into 4 quarters for tracking purposes. Their baseline is subtracted from their goal and divided into the four quarters. Each quarter is color coded. To figure out the dates we used a time/date calculator on-line to separate the quarters. I calculated on a 10 week rotation, BUT if summer is part way through the quarter I would cal

Students worked in groups to place these scenarios on sheets of paper underneath the headings. After completing the task, I had my class then illustrate one of each type.

Students can use this self-assessment rubric to evaluate where they fall on various post-workforce readiness skills. At the end of the week they total their score and the teacher scores them as well.
