This extension activity can help your students further understand what makes metals, nonmetals, and metalloids unique. Having students create their own made-up element and apply various qualities to it, allows for a deeper understanding of what qualities and vocabulary are tied to what kind of element. You could also use this as an overview of elements and atoms by having them create an element and place it next to your own periodic table.

This worksheet is designed to get students to practice with the concept of a plant moving from seed to emerging to a grown plant. I used this as a vocabulary extension for our plant systems unit and it gave students a quick and easy way to define and remember the emergence of seedlings.

This worksheet can be used to get students a 1-page note that visually explains the vacuole in a plant cell. It should take around 10-15 minutes to complete and was originally used as an inclusion support assignment for deaf ed students. This works best as an extension activity after you introduce the vocabulary, but can also be a great intro activity to follow along with.
