My Approach to Teaching:
My Teaching Approach is based on the principle of inclusivity:
I teach through a lens of equity - where learning adapts to the person, not the other way around. My approach aligns with the UK's Equality Act 2010 with regards to creating inclusive spaces that honour neurodiversity across all ages
The law's principles of removing barriers and making reasonable adjustments are at my core. For me, this means:
• Flexible methods - Using visual supports, stickers, or scaffolds in age-respectful ways
• Personalized pacing - Recognizing developmental stages without restrictive age assumptions
• Dignity-centred Teaching life skills to adults through mature contexts (workplace tasks vs preschool activities)
Whether supporting a nonverbal child or an adult with learning differences, I apply these equality principles. The same evidence-based strategies work at any age - it is about thoughtful adaptation, not starting over.
This is not simply good teaching - it is legally supported inclusive practice that sees potential beyond labels. I strongly believe in building skills that matter at every life stage.
