About the store
Hi! My name is Kathryn and welcome to my corner in the world of middle school math! I have had the joy of educating learners both at home in 🇨🇦 and abroad over the past decade (plus a few years), and along the way, I uncovered one of the most rewarding elements of our job - bringing math learning to life! I've found engaging ways to help learners meaningfully make sense of math to eliminate the "Why are we learning this?" question. I create ready-made, printable and editable resources that save you time and energy, all while keeping your students and their engagement and the forefront. There's no gate-keeping here! When I'm not planning or in the classroom, you will find me with my nose in a book and a coffee in my hand!

Teaching style

One of the best parts of teaching is seeing learners build independence! Inquiry and skills-focused learning has given learners in my math classroom the opportunity for voice, choice and ownership. This has led to increased engagement and a deeper understanding of mathematical skills and concepts, and their value in helping develop strong problem-solving skills. I LOVE engaging students in learning experiences that make them discover and think - investigations, real-world situations, collaborative projects, and more!

My own education history

I have a Bachelor of Education in Secondary education, a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management, and a International Baccalaureate (IB) advanced certificate in leadership research. I hold several certificates with the IB, focusing on Middle and Diploma Years programme development.
