About the store
For more than two decades, I have worked across the Australian K to 12 education landscape as a teacher, learning designer, and educational consultant, with a strong focus on supporting diverse learners, including gifted and twice exceptional students. Throughout my career, I have partnered with teachers and school leaders to design meaningful, curriculum aligned learning experiences that challenge students, build confidence, and deepen thinking. My work has always centred on strengthening teacher capacity and supporting learning that is purposeful, responsive, and grounded in strong pedagogical practice. In recent years, my work has focused on the thoughtful integration of generative AI into teaching and learning. I have worked alongside educators across primary and secondary settings to explore how AI can support learning design, differentiation, assessment, and inquiry based learning. Rather than viewing AI as a shortcut, I approach it as a co designer that supports teachers to think more deeply about curriculum, student needs, and the design of learning experiences. This work is grounded in well established instructional frameworks, including Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy, Kaplan’s Depth and Complexity, the Williams Model, and Maker based approaches. The Inspired Learning Design Guides have grown directly from this practical experience working with educators in real classrooms. Each guide reflects tested approaches, collaborative planning processes, and strategies that teachers can adapt across year levels and subject areas. My goal is to provide educators with tools that are practical, thoughtful, and easy to implement, supporting them to use generative AI with confidence while maintaining the professional judgement and expertise that sit at the heart of effective teaching.

For more than two decades, I have worked across the Australian K to 12 education landscape as a teacher, learning designer, and educational consultant, with a strong focus on supporting diverse learners, including gifted and twice exceptional students. Teaching style

My teaching style is grounded in the belief that every learner can think deeply when provided with the right balance of structure, challenge, and support. I focus on designing purposeful, engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, reflection, and meaningful connections across ideas. I value clear expectations, scaffolded learning, and opportunities for students to demonstrate understanding in different ways, ensuring that both confidence and independence are developed over time. I draw on established instructional frameworks such as Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy, Kaplan’s Depth and Complexity, and the Williams Model to extend thinking and maintain intellectual rigour. Above all, my approach centres on strong relationships, thoughtful learning design, and the use of tools, including generative AI, to enhance teaching while preserving the professional judgement that sits at the heart of effective education.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my most rewarding moments as a teacher have come from seeing learners and educators grow in confidence when the right support and challenge are in place. I have worked with students who felt disengaged or unsure of their abilities, including gifted and twice exceptional learners, and watched them rediscover their strengths through carefully designed learning experiences that honoured their needs and interests. Equally meaningful have been the moments working alongside teachers as they refine their practice, redesign learning, and gain confidence in using new approaches, including generative AI, in purposeful ways. These moments stand out because they reflect lasting growth, where confidence builds, curiosity deepens, and both students and teachers begin to see what is possible when learning is thoughtfully designed.

My own education history

My educational journey reflects a strong commitment to ongoing professional learning and a deep interest in understanding how students learn best. I hold a Master of Education from the University of New South Wales, with a focus on gifted education, where I developed advanced knowledge in differentiation, curriculum design, and supporting high potential learners. My studies have been grounded in both theory and practice, enabling me to translate research into practical strategies that support teachers and students in real classroom contexts. Throughout my career, I have continued to engage in professional learning in areas such as learning design, creativity, inclusive education, and the integration of emerging technologies, including generative AI, ensuring that my practice remains current, reflective, and responsive to the evolving needs of education.

Additional biographical information

I am an experienced educator and learning designer who is deeply committed to supporting both students and teachers to reach their full potential. Across my career, I have worked in a variety of educational roles, including classroom teaching, diverse learning, and educational consultancy, which has allowed me to develop a strong understanding of how to design learning that supports a wide range of needs. I am particularly passionate about fostering collaboration and building strong relationships with educators, students, and families, as I believe these partnerships are essential for meaningful and lasting growth. In addition to my work in schools, I regularly design and deliver professional learning for teachers, supporting them to strengthen their practice through thoughtful learning design and the integration of emerging technologies. I am especially interested in the role of generative AI as a supportive tool for planning, differentiation, and inquiry, and I enjoy helping educators build confidence in using these tools with purpose and professional judgement. My work is guided by a belief that education should be both rigorous and responsive, creating opportunities for learners to explore their interests, develop resilience, and engage deeply with their learning.
