For more than two decades, I have worked across the Australian K to 12 education landscape as a teacher, learning designer, and educational consultant, with a strong focus on supporting diverse learners, including gifted and twice exceptional students. Throughout my career, I have partnered with teachers and school leaders to design meaningful, curriculum aligned learning experiences that challenge students, build confidence, and deepen thinking. My work has always centred on strengthening teacher capacity and supporting learning that is purposeful, responsive, and grounded in strong pedagogical practice.
In recent years, my work has focused on the thoughtful integration of generative AI into teaching and learning. I have worked alongside educators across primary and secondary settings to explore how AI can support learning design, differentiation, assessment, and inquiry based learning. Rather than viewing AI as a shortcut, I approach it as a co designer that supports teachers to think more deeply about curriculum, student needs, and the design of learning experiences. This work is grounded in well established instructional frameworks, including Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy, Kaplan’s Depth and Complexity, the Williams Model, and Maker based approaches.
The Inspired Learning Design Guides have grown directly from this practical experience working with educators in real classrooms. Each guide reflects tested approaches, collaborative planning processes, and strategies that teachers can adapt across year levels and subject areas. My goal is to provide educators with tools that are practical, thoughtful, and easy to implement, supporting them to use generative AI with confidence while maintaining the professional judgement and expertise that sit at the heart of effective teaching.
