Additional biographical information

My first pupils were my horses... When I was 15 I started taming wild mustangs. I still have my mustang Flicka, and she helps out at a ranch for teens while I teach. I have always loved children, and the best year of my life was spent in Haiti, working at an orphanage. My dream is to go and help out in a Haitian school someday. For now I'm teaching school in Missouri. I'm addicted to coffee, and like my students, my favorite part of the day is recess! Some Saturdays, I follow my co-teachers into teacher stores, where they head straight over to by stickers for their lovely 8 year olds. But I walk past alphabet charts, cool whiteboard clocks, and addition flashcards to the tiny section of middle grades posters... with ugly fonts, lame cartoon pictures, and writing so small you can't read them from 3 ft away. Mmehh! So I make my own cool stuff to help my upper graders learn and I'm sharing...
