For over 25 years, Natalie has operated an independent piano studio, taught group music classes, hosted summer piano camps, and provided technology and teaching workshops for other music teachers. She has also been actively involved in the homeschool community, teaching public speaking, English grammar, and writing classes, as well as overseeing curriculum development for numerous children's programs.

Experience

For over 25 years, Natalie has operated an independent piano studio, taught group music classes, hosted summer piano camps, and provided technology and teaching workshops for other music teachers. She has also been actively involved in the homeschool community, teaching public speaking, English grammar, and writing classes, as well as overseeing curriculum development for numerous children's programs.

Teaching style

Natalie is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) and has operated an independent piano studio since 1998. She loves developing holistic educational materials that integrate many areas of learning in a memorable and fun way for students. She is a huge proponent of helping students take ownership for their educational pursuits by providing ample opportunities for personal choice as they work toward goals within a solid educational framework. She founded Music Matters Blog in 2005 and is dedicated to providing resources and ideas to inspire other teachers as they run their studios and classrooms with creativity as well!

My own education history

After graduating from high school Natalie continued her higher education primarily through short-term courses and distance learning, including special early childhood music education training through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. After many hours of study, documentation, examinations, prayer and support from numerous others, she achieved her goal of becoming a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in March, 2006. She continues her education through involvement in professional organizations and attendance at educational workshops whenever possible!

Natalie is married to the love of her life, Julian Weber, and together they enjoy being parents to four incredible children and two delightful granddaughters.
