This is a well-known trick based on binary numbers. My version has a clean, professional appearance. Students think of a secret number 1 - 60. The teacher then shows 6 charts and asks which of the charts contain the number. The teacher then announces the number correctly! The trick is an excellent way to introduce binary numbers.

This is a video explanation of how in three simple steps to incorporate a mural painting project into your middle school/high school math classes. This is an amazing trick with numbers. Students think of a 2-digit number, perform 2 simple calculations, and find a symbol that corresponds to their numbers on a chart. The teacher picks the correct symbol. The trick is repeated two more times, and each time the teacher picks the correct symbol. The last page uses algebra to explain how the trick works.

This bingo game is fun for students, excellent for reviewing working math problems, and requires minimal preparation by the teacher.
