The teacher calls out coordinates one at a time, and the student shades in the corresponding square. In the end, the squares create a picture. Great preparation for map skills in social studies. Take out the middle part, and paste the rest of the body next to the caterpillar head. Glue on an apostrophe and you've made a contract-a-pillar! Kids love this artistic way of teaching contractions. Experience
I have spent seven years teaching in a 1-3rd grade Montessori classroom.
Teaching style
The Montessori approach is to follow the child. My children are active and keep me active trying to keep up! They learn by doing, and my classroom is often humming with little busy-bodies bustling about. It is my goal to help them develop internal motivation, a sense of independence and responsibility, and a desire to learn more.
