Students explore a virtual clickable map (linked in file) and analyze Alexander the Great's conquests and his impact on history. Students use evidence from the map to summarize his impact on the world.
Students participate in a mock election of 1860 to understand the major issues of the election that led to the Civil War. Student groups are assigned a candidate and given a primary source of an abridged speech and party platform. Students create a poster using their analysis of the speech and party platform either supporting or opposing the candidate.
