Teaching style

I enjoy incorporating technology, music, social media and topics that engage my students to teach reading strategies and math. Connecting topics to life skills is essential for my students who sometimes have difficulty staying motivated as a result of influences outside of school.

Additional biographical information

A few more random facts about me... -I am a DOG LOVER (but advocate for all animals). -I am font obsessed... because my 5th graders completely agree that all of our assignments should be aesthetically pleasing. -I am a triplet and have one other sister who is a teacher. -I am an aspiring runner, *ahem* key word: aspiring. -I am a self-admitted iced tea addict. -I will one day have a blog, when I am better at balancing being a new teacher and the rest of my life. -I believe that one of the best things that I can teach my students is to never take themselves too seriously. One of my all-time favorite quotes is: "Our job is to teach the students we have. Not the ones we would like to have. Not the ones we used to have. Those we have right now. All of them."-Dr. Kevin Maxwell
