My career is defined by a commitment to shifting the educational paradigm from passive learning to active creation. Through my leadership as Director of Education for the California Invention Convention and the development of the "STEAMie" framework, I strive to turn every classroom into a hub of tangible innovation.
My own education history
With over three decades in the classroom, my educational philosophy is rooted in the intersection of traditional teaching and modern innovation. I hold an AA, a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and a Multiple Subject Credential. My academic foundation is bolstered by specialized certifications in Elementary Science Education from UC Irvine, as well as a supplementary authorization in Computer Technology acquired through coursework at UC Berkeley. I continue to refine my practice through ongoing research in Invention Education, the 'STEAMie' framework, and the structural mechanics of book arts, further supported by certifications in GLAD and CLAD instructional strategies.
