18 years teaching at Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy. I began at T.B.C.A. as a Janitor , at that time the school was structured as the "Big school house" My current bride taught 3 classes in one room. Today T.B.C.A. boasts over five hundred students from k-12 and was the number one school for Basketball in the entire Bahamas. Academics was not too far behind. I was placed in the kindergarten class as the school grew. At the change of a new principal I was placed in grade 5 as home room teacher, teaching every subject. As teachers we were given the Abeka curriculum and instructed to prepare a scope and sequence and class outlines. I was later moved to the nineth grade again teaching all subjects. Besides P.E. Fast forward as the school grew I was moved out of the classroom and given an Art room where I taught visual Arts, and crafts (teaching students to create souvenir's) Teaching String art, Tie dye, Batik, Junkanoo(Local Bahamian Festival held at the beginning of the Year) costume design. Coaching drew me to partner with a colleague to start The Falcons Boys Club(still going on today) lead by Darrin C. Rolle. I am now trying my hand at digital art.

The Lords Prayer

Call it Poetic, Call it Shakespearian, Call it Inspirational. Every classroom needs a copy of the Lords prayer. When college football players are struck down on the field, or students are lost in the forest on a camping trip, or a Government leader is shot and or hospitalized, the nation is asked to pray. Pray to who? Give your students a head start let them know that the Lord is their shepherd. Place this in your classroom as a poetic piece of art, have the children recite it each morning. Only

Experience

18 years teaching at Tabernacle Baptist Christian Academy. I began at T.B.C.A. as a Janitor , at that time the school was structured as the "Big school house" My current bride taught 3 classes in one room. Teaching style

Abeka was first. As i moved into the Arts, I taught hands on demonstrating and encouraging my students. Still life and on location teaching for fine Arts. I would take my students to the International Bazaar, the Beach and the Straw Market park where they would sit in a location and draw a seascape, building structure, figure study and atmosphere study. All in preparation of the Bahamas' National Exams.

Awards & shining teacher moments

At my Amazon Bookshelf I wrote a book called My Robot My Friend? (With a question Mark). I am listing it here because I had mentioned it to an Abeka scout or employee and was told to submit it to Abeka for review. I did and waited for their feed back. The contents of the book is about questioning the Narrative that Ai has obtained sentience. I was and still am excited about this book. The REAL take away is that we are being bombarded by the possibility of having robots or ai in our homes and we need to understand that unlike flesh and blood pets, people and non-flesh and blood plants Ai and robots are intruders...Why would I say that? What are the chrematistics' of an intruder? 1. You did not invite them. (The Programmers you do not know) 2. They are free to move about your home without your permission and 3. You do not know their Purpose. So my book: My Robot My Friend tackles the underlying issues for kids of all ages.

My own education history

High school diploma in 1987, Outstanding Achievement in Commercial Arts. VCU course in Curriculum building. Landmark Baptist Christian College Courses in Elementary Education, and the Baptist Bible Institute Bahamas. Every Year during my tenure at T.B.C.A. we would attend Seminars at Abeka School in Pensacola Florida to learn their method of classroom management.

Additional biographical information

Personally I believe our children are wet cement. They learn through intention and accident. As adults we must always be on guard over our words and actions, they must line up and be on point. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6 Contrary to Popular Pastoral opinions. The Child will never depart from the training. Because children learn through "Caught and Taught" we as adults are never off the clock while children are recording.
