I spent 5 years teaching middle school math. I then became my school's technology coordinator, helping teachers incorporate technology into their lessons. I'm currently an elementary school resource/co-teacher for grades 2-5.
This is a fun way to get students to apply scientific notation to real-life situations. This document has active links to websites where students find the answers to real-world questions. Students then record the answer and convert it into scientific notation.

Experience
I spent 5 years teaching middle school math. I then became my school's technology coordinator, helping teachers incorporate technology into their lessons. I'm currently an elementary school resource/co-teacher for grades 2-5.
Teaching style
I believe students learn and retain information by practicing. Rather than doing boring worksheets, games and activities stimulate their brains and make them apply what they have learned to a new situation.
