This is an excellent introduction to scientific notation for the SMART Board. Students first use exponents to solve 4 problems, then they watch a BrainPop video (this is optional, since a membership is required to watch the videos). This interactive 14 page document will introduce students to the concept of graphing inequalities on a number line. Several examples are included, a well as two interactive games. Print the pages and students can take notes directly on them, or students can take notes from the pages on the board. A warm-up of comparing numbers as well as placing integers on a number line is also included.

I believe students learn and retain information by practicing. Rather than doing boring worksheets, games and activities stimulate their brains and make them apply what they have learned to a new situation.
