Letter/Word Game Tally Board for Students

Teaching style

I use a diverse approach to facilitate learning. I believe in order to truly teach the students you first have to build a good relationship. You need to get to know them and implement their interests in your teaching. As far as teaching styles, I am a blend of demonstration, facilitator, and delegator. I am also trained in Wilson and how to support students with dyslexia. All kids need explicit systematic phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, etc (The Whole Child)

Awards & shining teacher moments

Seeing the lightbulb go off when a student first learns something new or when it finally clicks is one of my favorite moments. I have received numerous accolades for my teaching. One of the experiments that I conducted with my pre-k students went viral and made t.v. news and news articles. I received Teacher of the Year as well.

My own education history

I have my master's in educational leadership, bachelor's in elementary education, add-on endorsement for pre-k, special education endorsement for Pre-K-12, and I am a certified Reading Recovery/Literacy Lessons. I am also trained in Wilson and how to support students with dyslexia. All kids need explicit systematic phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, etc (The Whole Child)

Additional biographical information

I am a published author of a children's book titled "Shine Your Light." I am working on another children's book. I am also a filmmaker (screenwriter, actress, director, producer).
