About the store

Experience

For 4 years, I have been homeschooling my 10-year old daughter who has autism. A certified teacher developed our curriculum and oversees our work.

Teaching style

My daughter is a visual learner. I have developed visual school materials that help her learn. My daughter learns best when the materials are simple, rather than cluttered, busy, or distracting. My daughter helped me to realize just how complex our standard academic concepts can be to a child with autism or to any child who learns differently. She has taught me to break concepts into small parts, and to how to layer on the more complex parts until she understand the whole concept.

My own education history

Additional biographical information

My family and I use Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) therapy to help reduce my autistic daughter's social deficit. Some of my materials can be used to help other RDI families with their RDI objectives.
