Here is a unit I am currently working on. I had all my students observe the moon nightly. That was cool for them to watch. Then they charted the calendar each night and we reflected at the end of the week. I have also rotated my kids, so they have taken great notes, and I have started making large posters. We will go into the tasty Oreo cookies next. yum, yum. It's fun to get everything in - and have fu as well as the project.
Isn't Thanksgiving a wonderful time to start a new tradition? It seems that not all children realize the importance of this holiday. In starting this new tradition, children write poetry and lead a discussion that gets their whole family involved. We start the boxes in class by decorating the boxes with RED, YELLOW, BROWN, AND ORANGE tissue paper. After that, the forms are attached and placed in the box along with a few other items.
