Who says learning ca't be fun? I've combined Language Arts vocabulary key words with our 3rd Grade Social Studies Book and created a scavenger hunt. All you need to do is preview the words index, glossary, table of contents, among others. Then let the students do the rest. Have you ever wondered how children learn directions, or if they are naturally inherited? Even though we have a GPS, we still need to know the basic fundamentals. Children will create their own town and make a map game board to give directions. Their friend will get to play when they are finished creating the game, so the directions must be superb! In order to give good directions, children will use location, a compass, and travel down so many blocks to find their destination.
