This appears to be a fifth grade math assessment but it really is a lesson on following directions. While it has plenty of legitimate math problems, it tells students to read all the directions and problems first. The last problem's instructions say not to solve anything and just turn it in. Easy lesson on the importance of reading the instructions.

This is a project with instructions split into 3 parts on google slides. On day 1 students pick a topic and theme, day 2 they write instructions to solve the problems for their game, and day 3/4 they create their board game. The slides could be turned into a printable product and are fully editable. I take about a week and have students either work in groups or individually. I have also done this as an individual project as well and then had students play each other's games for review.

Students will create a resort on the planet of their choosing. They must decide what type of room the resort will have and how many of each type. The project has them calculate the cost at each step. They will eventually have a total cost. They then use the catalogue to purchase furniture and items for their rooms. This is a game for practicing finding the least common multiples and greatest common factors. I use this game before introducing simplifying fractions and creating common denominators.
