I am a teacher/library media specialist with thirty years experience working with all grade levels from Pre-K through college level. I teach information literacy instruction, and social studies, including history, geography, civics, and other topics. I have partnered with teachers and students from grades K-8 and at the college level, assisting students with research papers and projects in many areas. As an adjunct college reference librarian I have created and taught basic skills lessons, and research lessons for traditional college students, multilingual learners, and returning older adult students.
When teaching or planning lessons, my top priority is to provide clear directions and opportunities for structured learning. I also have read and taught several different novels and memoirs with my students. Teaching and discussing the powerful ideas of a novel or biography is always a most enjoyable teaching opportunity.
