Fantastic and fun opportunity for students to engage in using the Depth & Complexity icons of patterns and rules. Just print out, enter 1 number, and have the students fill in the rest of the number puzzle (using a hundreds chart). Can be used for students who are able to use higher numbers...or reversely, go into the negative numbers. Students can then identify patterns and certain rules that apply (GATE) after completing the number puzzle.

An extremely helpful tool in providing students with support and logical steps to use the strategy of decomposing numbers when adding. This resource starts with showing students how to decompose numbers using numerical and pictorial representations. Following an understanding of what decomposing numbers is, students are then introduced to the use of the decomposing strategy for adding numbers together.
