This project involves creating a "soundtrack" for a Shakespeare play, and is adaptable to all Shakespearean plays. I have used it to accompany my "Raj and Ky" play adaptation, but it can be used with any version, either for study or performance. It allows your students to consider the mood of the play and how they would justify their choice of music, were they staging the play.
After seven years and ten plays, I've learned some tricks for performing Shakespeare plays with young students. This is my outline for getting a Shakespeare play going in your class, including casting, choosing a play, and performance. The advice fits with any Shakespeare play, but is relevant in particular to my "Raj and Ky" adaptations of Shakespeare's plays. Enjoy!
