About the store

Experience

Presently I am teaching Grade Four Language Arts and Social Studies. I have taught Kindergarten to Grade 6, as well as Art and Drama over a thirty-three year teaching career in Nova Scotia and British Columbia.

Teaching style

My teaching style is a student-centred, hands-on approach, creating opportunities for learning using collaboration, exploration and inquiry, as well as explicit teaching in small and whole group settings. I am passionate about using my creativity and innovation to make learning fun and engaging for students. I give students the opportunity to share their own interests and passions to guide the learning process and inform my teaching and planning.

My own education history

I majored in English Literature at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I earned my teaching degree at the University of Alberta and my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
