Team Work was written for my beginning percussionists. There is not a lot of beginning percussion music available that is actual playable by beginning players. This piece offers solo parts as well as group parts, hence the name Team Work. Parts include, 2 mallets, 2 snares, 1 bass drum. It is possible to be played by 5 players, or doubling of parts works well.

Serenade is a piece I wrote for my middle school flute section. It is in 3 parts, allowing it to be a simple trio, or a full ensemble. A lot of ensemble music is either too difficult, or too easy, at least in our school library. My students had a lot of fun working it up for concerts and festivals.

These cards are easy to print on business card paper. Students can create their own rhythms choosing from different time signatures. I use these with my beginning band students, years 1 and 2. The students love creating their own rhythms with their friends.

This included 3 different note name speed tests. These tests are designed for any music classroom, but are specifically for instrumental music. Treble and Bass clef tests are included and so are the answer keys. The bass clef has the octave for trombone/baritone and tuba. Tests 1 & 2 have specific times for each line. Test 3 does not have an allotted time, as it is more of a race against one's self, or against each other.

This chart work is great for sub plans, middle school and high school bands beginning to dive into the jazz style, or a music appreciation or history class. It can take about 15-30 minutes to complete, depending on the grade level and level of effort put into the answers.

I like to call worksheets, Fun Activity Sheets! So this fun activity sheet is geared towards those just learning about note values and rhythms. It incorporates whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and their like rests. Students will need to complete simple math equations with only being provided the notes. They will have to know the note values.
