Need a quick, comprehensive, and ready to implement STATE Identification unit for your 4th or 5th grade students? Look no further! I’ve chunked the 50 states into 4 separate regions (NE, SE, MW, and SW/W) with a spiral approach to both introduce and review a manageable set of states each week. I’ve created several study sheets and practice resources for the focus region each week. Each section has a SELF GRADED Google Form to assess growth each week. I created this set of 8 ½ X 11 inch posters to display for my students. I wanted them to have a visual reference for eliminating those “tired” words in their creative writing. Full of “sparkle” words such as boisterous, appalling, and colossal…..this set of cute tee-rific words is sure to help your students, too! Hang them on a piece of clothesline to make your own “laundry line”. Very cute! Included: *10 color posters featuring a common word and 6 richer choices on brightly colored tee-shi

About the store

Experience

I am in my 12th year of teaching 4th grade. Currently I am piloting an integrated language arts/social studies class. I have also taught 9 years of kindergarten, 2 years of 5th grade, and 1 year of middle school special education.

Teaching style

I love to teach using themes! I am constantly trying to connect my language arts skills with topics relevant to the other subject areas. I feel students learn so much more if they can see how events are related to each other. I find myself creating a lot of my own materials because commercial products for the intermediate grades are still fairly divided among subjects. That's okay, though. I'm finding that my custom-made activities are the ones the students are most successful with!
