I have over 16 years of classroom-teaching experience in middle school. Although all the districts I have worked for have adopted curriculum, I found that not all the resources were exactly what I was looking for. I have created many slideshows, worksheets, posters, and packets that have been helpful in teaching concepts and providing additional help and practice. Pythagorean Theorem Poster

This poster visually shows how to label the sides of a right triangle (legs, hypotenuse) and proves the PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM. The question at the bottom, "What's the final step?" is a reminder for students to find the SQUARE ROOT after using the equation. I have this printed out in large poster size in color and laminated in my classroom. Students refer to it often as they are solving problems involving missing side lengths of right triangles.

State Math Test Prep

This document is a compilation of review topics and 8th Grade Common Core content to help students prepare for the state math test. I give students time to work on completing this in individually and/or in groups. Then I answer questions and go over it the week before they take the State Math test.
