Experience

My teaching experience is continuously evolving. I began my career in a PreK Headstart program. I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade, as well as 7th and 8th creative writing. I have found my niche teaching 3rd grade, focusing primarily on readers' and writers' workshops and emotional intelligence.

Teaching style

My role as a teacher is multifaceted. I recognize that every student is unique—endowed with distinct capabilities and learning styles. As a mentor, I seek to display patience, empathy, and a genuine concern for my students. As a facilitator of knowledge acquisition, I believe learning should be accomplished through motivation and encouragement. It is my responsibility to share ownership in my students’ education, recognizing them as participants rather than as recipients. In fashioning a student-centered approach, I aspire to fuel their interests and allow my students to express confidence in their abilities to learn and succeed.
