This is a powerpoint that includes opening routines and decoding practice for each day of the week.

I usually start out reading Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge to introduce memories. Each month has a memory page that staes: "My favorite memory in (month) is..." Then at the end of each month we talk about and list all the fun memories we have for that month and the students complete the writing. There is also a field trip page and first memory of first grade page. This makes an easy memory book for the end of the year since you've already done all the pages!
