Hybrid Car Systems of Equations from a Context Rich Task
This 25-30 minute formative assessment asks students to use a table to model the long term cost of two cars, one hybrid-electric and one sedan. Students use guided notes in to solve the system of equations. This task also is available online at blog.wootmath.com and can be run with the free tool, Woot Math Polls.

Tow Truck Offline Formative Assessment on Modeling Linear Equations
This 20 minute formative assessment uses the context of a tow truck to get students thinking about linear modeling and linear equations. There are discussion prompts and opportunities for individual and group work. This task is also available digitally through the free online tool, Woot Math Polls.
