Sorting words with the "oo" sound as in book and the "oo" sound as in moon. Students cut out the picture/word cards and sort them into the two different sounds. They may either glue them onto the word sort page provided and glue directly into their books. Happy word sorting!

Learning Focus: To identify and read common ending-blends - ft, mp, nt, nd and nk Game objective: To be the first to achieve 4 in a row Player 1 rolls the dice, finds a word ending in that blend, reads it and then places a counter on the word. Player 2 does the same. If a player rolls a star, they make choose the blend of their choice. If a player rolls a blend and all of those blends are taken, they lose a turn. Continue playing until one of the players gets 4 counters in a row.

Learning Focus: Place Value (bundling groups of ten) Game objective: To be the first to collect 100 pop sticks OR to get the most within a certain time. Player 1 rolls the dice and collects that amount of pop sticks from the pile and places it on the first truck on his own board. Player 2 rolls the dice and does the same on her own board. Player 1 rolls the dice and adds that amount to his first truck. If it totals MORE THAN ten, he must BUNDLE a group of ten with a rubber-band and put the rem

Use these ready made popstick patterns for the students to copy and extend. It is levelled from easy 2-element patterns through to 4-element patterns. A recording sheet is also included for children to mark off which ones they have completed. It's all there for you. You just need the popsticks and you have a ready made mathematics work station.

Teach your students about the mathematics concepts of "less" and "more" using this interactive and fun game/activity. The object of the game is to recognise the terms "more" and "less; and be the first one to reach 10 points. Laminate the game board and spinner, put out a small bucket of unifix cubes or blocks and you're away.

Place Value Mat - enlarge to A3 and laminate. Students can use bundling sticks or MAB blocks to show numbers to 99, They can also use this mat to add 2 numbers together. Write the total in the boxes at the bottom of the mat.

Simple number tracks from 0-20 which can be used as is or add a pipe cleaner and a bead and it becomes an interactive number track. Great for numeral identification and as an addition or take away support resource.

Differentiate your teaching when setting up counting on activities. Some children in your class will only be counting on from numbers between 0-10 whereas others will be playing with numbers in the hundreds. This is an activity for the whole class. Cut out the template and laminate. Children then write a number at the top and fold in the two dots, one dot or zero dots for counting on to that number. Easy!
