This is something that I like to send home with my students on a daily basis so that parents know what we are up to! Just a quick overview for the parents to see what the kids worked on, ate, what specials they went to, and anything else important! This is also a great way to communicate with the parents as there is an area for notes from the teacher and notes from home!

As teachers, we all know how important it is to keep documentation of everything we do! Even more so in Special Education. For a long time, I was always scratching notes down on various pieces of paper during meetings, phone calls, etc.. One morning, this idea came to me! I realize this isn't anything new but I was so excited that I had to share! :) I hope you find this as useful as I found it! Also, thanks to Graphics from the Pond for the fuzzy bumps border! I absolutely love the fuzzy b

It’s great when our kids know their basic shapes when we teach them using basic note cards or basic shapes, but it’s even better when they can generalize what they’ve learned into everyday life.

I had previously made these cards for my kiddos to use but I hand wrote them. Obviously, that paper didn’t last long! So now the school year is starting and I really want to have the kiddos working on their independent skills & This is probably the best place to start! Most of my kiddos are familiar with categorization, colors, patterns, and one to one correspondence, so this is the perfect place to start for working on independent skills since they already have these skills! Basically, they

Hello! First, let me say thank you for downloading my product! Recently, I’ve been looking around on the internet for some basic letter and number cards. As I’ve been looking around I haven’t been too impressed with what I saw. I wanted basic number and letter cards because when I’m teaching my young kiddos to identify numbers and letters it needs to be the most basic form (no cute stuff clutter the card, although I have to admit I’m a sucker for that stuff!) So, since I couldn’t find anyth

About the store

Experience

I am in year 13 of teaching! I am currently teaching pull-out learning support for grades 4,5, & 6. In the past, I have taught in self-contained Autistic Support classrooms K - 8. I have utilized many different techniques and encountered a wide variety of learning styles, which has allowed me to continue to gain knowledge and keep up-to-date with various teaching techniques.

Teaching style

In my current position, I teach in small groups throughout the day to meet the needs of all of my students. While they may be in 4,5 or 6th grade, they are significantly below grade level and need instruction at their level. This means I am teaching multiple Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies lessons throughout the day to leveled groups. Previously, when I was teaching in a self-contained classroom my teaching styles changed from minute to minute and I would have to be flexible in my instruction methods to meet all of our students' needs. I use applied behavior analysis, direct instructions, and evidence-based methods to teach academic, life skills, hygiene, social skills, motor skills, as well as expressive and receptive language.

My own education history

B.A. in Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, 2012 M.S. in Special Education and a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, 2015

Additional biographical information

I have my Undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. I've also obtained my Masters degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. Currently, I have 13 years of teaching experience, most of my years in Autistic Support, within the last three years, I switched over to teaching pull-out Learning Support.
